after 12th, should you enroll in B.Tech/B.E course

||| career & higher education |||

When I was in XIIth standard, I have faced a crisis in my life, where I should have to take a choice out of many future options ahead of me. I was a student of science group as I had taken Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, although I had opted to take Statistics in XIth standard but left it after XIIth.

The choices open to me were either to enroll myself in BSc. course in Physics (honours) in the G. C. College or to appear in the Joint Admission Test (JAT) to avail seat in Regional Engineering Colleges (RECs) across India.

My basic knowledge about Physics and Mathematics were better than the knowledge of Chemistry. Any Engineering Entrance Examination is 80% dependent on the knowledge of Physics an Mathemtics, and that was my plus point after I cleared H.S. with first division (70.4%). My real disadvantages were my lack of preparation materials for the Entrance Examination as I didn't subscribe the tutorial courses although I had attended the Workshop organized by GC College, although it hardly made any contribution in my Entrance Examination.

I have seen enough confused students who are at sea after 12th Class as to choose the next step of their careers. In 12th one has to choose among three principal streams plus some odd combination.
