1 ACT (DEC. 26, 2010)

27.12.2010 05:31 EST
1 act of human kindness today renewed - or I should say, strengthened - my faith in humankind, woman, God and minutely, in myself. An attractive woman, who I glimpsed in Wendy's, Liguanea, with her 2 kids, and who I called to, as I left the fastfood eating place and she got in her SUV, stopped at the bus stop and offered me a drive, which I accepted, past the neighbourhood she lived in, right to my gate. Her name is Rhonda Hudson and I owe her more than that good, samaritan drive, and I give her thanks for renewing my faith and triply so. When I went into Wendy's, I glanced at Ms. Hudson, because both she and the white SUV outside reminded me of someone I knew (who also had 2 kids and I didn't even know then that the SUV was hers). Even so I paid her scant attention because I was in the process mentally of resolving to stop admiring women for 2011 and make myself as much as possibly a spiritual being, and shedding the carnal as much as possible, without dying. This may have had more to do with my new-found low self-esteem resulting from recent encounters with many women. (THE FATHEAD FATCAT AT 50 SYNDROME) In any case God says 'no' and even more that resolve seemed to go through the door at the same time Ms. Hudson went through Wendy's door, and I will confess this, though I could confess more, I hoped and prayed she would stop and pick me up, but never expected it to happen. When I reached home and looked in the mirror I realized it had nothing to do with me but with her and with God. Even it was out of sympathy for a poor old man coming from church, or mistaking me for a church brother, that 1 act of kindness restored my faith in man, woman and God (but still not in my fathead fatcat @50 low self-esteem self). FAST FORWARD to 2011
