rule breakers in indian mythology

21.06.2013 23:17 EDT
according to a recent survey on young boys and girls by noted mythologist dr. Devdutt patnaik revealed three of their most popular mythological characters. They were- krishna, shiva and raavana. There is a common pattern among them that they were all rule breakers. while krishna break the rules which according to him, were not serving their purpose(subversive rebel), shiva break the norms traditional of god in order to look beyond the existing strata of truth(sage). Raavana break the rules just bcz he doesnt wanted to hear anyone else except himself(dominant alpha). This survey also reveals that todays youth prefers more practical characters than idealistic characters as no one in the survey liked lord rama as their favourite mythological character. Strange but true.
