All sexually active adolescent women should have access to safe and effective methods of contraception. what would it cost to proviide adolescent women in poorer parts of the world with the services they need? Ann M. Starrs, president of the Guttmacher isntitute, looks at how a small price could have enormous benefits. contraceptives for women. some 38 million adolescent women aged 15 to 19 years in developing regions are sexually active and want to avoid pregnancy, of those, 23 million have an unmet need for modern contraception. international youth day is known all over the world, it is therefore necessary to draw attention to the challenges young people face and the ways the 2030 agenda for sustainable development, which aims to end poverty and improve qualiity of life, seek to address some of those challenges, including
the reproductive health of adolescent women.
Many young women don't want to have a child soon, they are not practicing contraception or they are using traditional methods, which are less effective than modern contraceptives.
