INTERNET LOVE

13.05.2013 11:10 EDT
This story is for those who think that internet romance is a joke.
Never say never. I used to think that I would never fall in love, and that no one would ever fall in love with me.
After years of rejection and failed attempts at meeting women, I had given up and accepted my fate as a lifelong bachelor. I should have known that love comes when you least expect it. One day, while visiting my favoritechat room, I noticed a new name in the room. As it turned out, she was near my age and very, very sweet. We got to talking, and found that we were actually quite compatible. At first, I thought that there was no way that such a perfect woman could be unattached. Much to my surprise (and happiness as well), she was single -- and equally interested in me.
We've since spent countless hourstogether online, and three wonderful weeks together in person. We've been together for almost eight months now (and they have been the greatest eight months of my life), and we're already making long-term plans... even discussing marriage. There is no one else I would rather be with -- she is the sweetest, most intelligent, kindest, most caring, loving, witty, down-to-earth person I have ever met, not to mention the fact that she is stunningly gorgeous, inside and out. Despite the fact that we're separated by more than 2,000 miles of distance, I feel closer to her than I've ever felt to anyone. With the help of fate and a little bit of faith, we've made it, and we're on our way to living happilyever after, a fairytale come true. We knew it would be hard to be so far apart, but we also knew that if we didn't try, we would regret it forever.
She just finished college, and we plan to get engaged as soon as I have enough money. In the meantime, we both go to great lengths to visit and be there for each other. Even though she's notclose enough to hold my hand, she never fails to touch my heart. I love her with every ounce of my being, and I don't know what I would do without her.
So to all of you disbelievers who say that online relationships"aren't real" and don't work, I say that they can and do work. If it wasn't for the internet, I would never have met my soulmate.
Lovingly dedicated to Christie, the most beautiful woman on Earth.
