If faddiness suddenly begin it is worth makingsure the child hasn't anymouth ulcers or a sore throat putting them offfood. Otherwise it is important not to fall into doing exactly what the child wishes and to keep changing their foodall the time. Offer the child a reasonable selection of food in small quantities and give the child an opportunity to eat whatit wants. If it keeps rejecting the food then take it away but do not be tempted to give the child something else because the child will interpret that as rewarding its behaviour. Wait until the next mealtime and then try again.Some experts feelthat it is helpful to offerchildren, even young children, a variety of textures and flavours of food from an early age; this is in order to get them used to the variety of adult food and that this helps prevent faddiness in later childhood.
