The beast within

he feels only warmth,
his shirt turning red.
Adrenalins high,
it's clouding his head.
He grabs at the arm,
that's holding the knife.
Nothing seems real,
as he fights for his life.
The strength in the arm,
no match for his rage.
The knife was the key,
that opened the cage.
Released and enraged,
the animal flies.
No visible change,
except for his eyes.
He'd kept it suppressed,
he let no one see.
But given no choice,
He set the beast free.
The snap of a bone,
the beast doesn't care.
No pity is felt,
it just isn't there.
The beast doesn't live,
by an eye for an eye.
Just isn't enough,
to hear his foe cry.
Kill or be killed,
is all the beast knows.
And the more that he kills,
the stronger he grows . . . . .
