Hanley Park

Carl and I decided to take a few sandwiches and go and see Hanley Park, down the road from where we live.

The park is nicely sized, with a large variety of mature trees. This is a great habitat for lots of different bird species.

Past the bandstand and down from the bowling green, we headed to the park lake. Here were vast numbers of ducks, geese and a trio of lovely mute swans.

Of course, the bag of breadcrumbs I had with me meant I was their friend while the food lasted! The swan in the centre of the picture above became very close to me, following me around for an age!

A lovely day out in the winter sunshine!
