Approaching God Faithfully

“Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;”

Hebrews 10:19-23

We have seen how we can approach God boldly because of what Christ did for us on Calvary. We have also seen how we can approach God personally through a pure and prepared heart. Lastly, we can also approach God faithfully.

As we said before, the book of Hebrews was written to the Jewish believers. Many of these believers were being tempted to revert to their “old way” of life. But here they are admonished to “hold fast” their profession! They were to keep serving God no matter what. They were to be faithful.

First Thessalonians 5:24 says, “Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.” God is faithful to do what He promises us! We also must be faithful to Him and to His will. We must be faithfully approaching God each day through prayer.

As we approach God through prayer each day, we must be sure we are faithfully living for Him as well. Even as the writer of Hebrews admonished the Hebrew Christians to “hold fast” their profession, we too must be faithful to that which God has called us! We must be daily living for God and seeking to please Him through all we do.

First Corinthians 15:58 states, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” We are to be steadfast in our work for the Lord and in our faith. We should daily be telling others of Christ’s love for them. We should daily be glorifying God through our lives. And we should be daily approaching God and spending time with Him through prayer and Bible reading.

Have you been faithfully approaching God each day? Are you faithfully living for Christ and spending time with God? Take time now to approach God’s throne of grace. Meet with God and spend time with Him through prayer and Bible reading.

Friend, we can come to our Heavenly Father any time we need Him! We can approach Him boldly because we are His children. We can approach Him personally through a pure heart and have faith that He will hear us. And we can approach God faithfully each day. Determine to be faithful in your approach to God as you seek to live for Him.
