Britney is suing eight international insurance companies to recover almost 10 million in damages for their refusal to pay her for losses she sustained when her European concert tour was canceled because of a knee injury.
The 14-page lawsuit filed late last week in Manhattan State Supreme Court but made public Monday said the eight companies refused to compensate the singer for losses arising from the canceled shows, despite repeated demands to do so.

Britney has been back and working on tracks for her 5th album.
Despite announcing she was taking a break from her career, Britney paid a surprise visit to an LA radio station where she previewed a new track, called Mona Lisa. The track was done with Britney and her live band during the Onyx Hotel Tour last summer.
´It´s totally live, its a very raw mix right now and we are currently working on making it better, it will be a lot better´ Britney told the station.
Britney´s new album is as yet untitled and is not yet listed on the her record company, Jive, release calander. The album is under the working title of The Original Doll. Britney said ´It´s only half done at this stage, I would hope to have it out by the summer or before´.

Superstar Britney Spears proved she hasn´t lost her touch when she was crowned best female singer at the MTV EUROPE AWARDS on November 18th at Tor di Valle in Rome, Italy.
The singer beat competition superstars Beyonce, Avril Lavigne, Anastacia, Alicia Keys at an awards watched by millions across the globe.

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have filed their marriage license with the county registrar´s office, an agency spokeswoman said Tuesday.
The ´Oops!...I Did It Again´ singer, 22, married Federline during September 18 ceremony in a Studio City home, but didnt immediately file the license with the county, raising questions about whether they were legally wed. Kathy Tacawy, a county registrar´s spokeswoman, confirmed the documents were filed in LA County within the 10-day legal window.

Newlywed pop star Britney Spears told her fans Monday that she is taking a few months off ´to enjoy life,´ including her honeymoon and reruns of her favorite TV shows.
´My prerogative right now is to just chill and let all the other overexplosed blondes on the cover of US Weekly magazine be your entertainment,´ she said of her website. Spears´s publicist, Leslie Sloane, added that the singer was merely keeping a low profile until first of next year to ´spend some time with her husband.´
