Everybody criticizes the rich and famous
For being shallow and indifferent to everything
But their own pocket, but isn’t
This what everybody wants to be?

Everyone lives for money eventually;
But I don’t want to turn like this
And become just like them.

I grow impatient with all they say,
Having trouble to believe, seeing everything
Turn out untrue. The people we trust
Just let us down. Like politicians, like rock stars.

Like my favorite band, who said the give a damn?
If they can’t hear what I’m saying,
Don’t even know that I exist.
But they are the icons for others like me.

It’s all about public image now,
Because status and money sets you apart,
You build walls of convenience,
And don’t care what’s outside.
But in fact they are no better than us, only with dough.
