□¡□Spicy Apple□¡□

This sweet, spicy, and savory main dish is simple and delicious for any fall meal.
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 55 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour, 15 minutes
*. 1 Tbsp. oil
*. 6 (1-1/2" thick) boneless pork loin chops
*. 2 cups apple cider
*. 1/3 cup spicy mustard
*. 3 apples, unpeeled, cored, sliced 1/2" thick
*. 1/2 cup currants
*. 6 green onions, chopped
*. 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
*. 1/4 cup water
In large skillet, heat oil and add pork chops. Brown chops on both sides, turning once.
In medium bowl combine apple ciderand mustard and blend well with wire whisk. Pour over chops. Cover pan and cook over medium-low heat for 40-45 minutes. Add apples, currants and green onions; cover and cook 5-10 minutes longer until pork is no longer pink in center and applesare tender. Remove pork and apples to serving platter and cover to keep warm.
In small bowl combine cornstarch and water and mix to blend. Add to sauce in skillet. Cook and stir over medium heat until sauce is thickened; serve over chops and apples. 6 servings
Start with a spice cake mix, add some oats, cheese, walnuts, and apple pie filling, and you end up witha fabulous fall dessert.

Yield: 12 servings
*. 1 pkg. two layer spice cake mix
*. 1-1/4 cups quick oats, divided
*. 2/3 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
*. 1/2 cup butter, softened
*. 1 egg
*. 2 Tbsp. butter, softened
*. 1 cup chopped pecans
*. 1/2 cup brown sugar
*. 1 tsp. cinnamon
*. 21-oz. can apple pie filling
*. 1/2 cup craisins
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 12" round pizza pan or 13x9" cake pan and set aside.
Combine cake mix, 1 cup oats, cheese, and 1/2 cup butter in large bowl and mix until crumbly. Reserve 1 cup of these crumbs. Add egg to remaining crumbs and mix until combined. Press into greased pan and bake for 10 minutes.
To reserved crumbs, add 1/4 cup oats, 2 Tbsp. butter, pecans, brown sugar, and cinnamon and mix well.
Remove crust from oven and spread with apple pie filling. Sprinkle with craisins, then top with reserved crumb mixture.
Bake 15-25 minutes longer until crumbs are golden brown. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
