thé JöY in mè

What is JOY? In christian circles,we tend to do one of several things to joy. We thr0w the w0rd ar0und loosely,exh0rting others to have the " joy of the lord "; we teach that there is a distincti0n between j0y and happiness,with0ut defining what really is it..We turn joy into a neat little acr0nym- Jesus first, 0thers sec0nd and Yourself last - that tells a christian h0w to find j0y,but still neglects to define joy.
JOY is a c0ntentment and delight in God that is n0t based on circumstances or material things. Joy has a depth and a certain shallowness and m0st pe0ple tend to see only one of th0se two sides.
JOY is a mature em0ti0n,it is deep and pr0f0und. It is inspired by all the things that are part of being rightly related to God. Joy means the perfect fulfillment of which we are created and regenerated.
JOY is based on being related to God,surrendering to his will as Jesus did. Joy is n0t f0und in the absence of trials, but in the faithfullnes of God thr0ugh trials. Clearly, joy is wrapped up in the everyday c0ncerns of human life, and we must be careful to remember that such "shallow" things are just as much fr0m God as "deeper" christian experience.
Finally, true j0y is f0unded by truth. It is fr0m God,who can also take it away. It is f0r the all-surpassing glory of God. "The lord has d0ne great things f0r us,and we are filled with j0y." Psalms 126:2-3
