For the olive to produce its oil, the flesh and life of the olive is sacrificed. Olives go through a great deal of crushing and pressing for the oil to be released.
The olives are thrown onto a olive crusher where they are crushed into a mash by a limestone wheel. Water is poured on them continuesly.
One third is water, one third is pulp and one third is oil. The mash are placed in flat baskets and are then stacked on top of each other on the pressing floor.
Heavy weights are placed on top of the baskets. There it is pressed until the oil bleeds over the baskets.
The first pressing are the virgin oil which are very precious. This were used for annointing purposes and for the sacrifices in the temple.
The second pressing are used for cooking etc. GETHSEMANE at Mt of Olives means Olivepress. Mark 14:32-34. v.34: He told them,
"My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and watch with me." - Jesus fully surrendered and offered
Himself up to the Father. He was in such terrible agony that He bled through His pores.
We ought to also offer ourselves to the Father. Our flesh needs to die. Die to our sinfull nature. Die to the self. That means
to fully surrender to the Father. Our own wills, desires, plans etc. We go through trials and all kinds of painful experiences in order for the annointing to flow.
We are broken and crushed until there is no self or pride left in us. Psalm 34:18 " The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues
those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm 147:3 "He heals the brokenhearted; binding up their wounds.
Isaiah 57:15 "The High and lofty one who inhabits eternity, the Holy one says this; "I live in that high and holy place WITH THOSE WHOSE spirits are contrite
and humble. I refresh the humble and give new courage to those with repentant hearts. Isaiah 66:2 " I will bless those
who have humble hearts, who tremble at My Word. The annointing's flow is released through humility, brokeness, dependance
in God alone and a close daily walk with Him. Matth. 21:44 " Anyone who stumbles over that stone will be broken to pieces, and it will crush anyone on
whom it falls. 1 Peter 2:8 He is the stone that makes people stumble, the rock that will make them fall. They stumble because they do not listen to God's Word
or obey it, and so they meet the fate that has been planned for them. Pride and haughtiness comes to fall. It is better to fall on the rock and be broken,
Or the rock will fall on us and crush us to dust. The annointing flows where there is humility.
