My joy

You were my joy on the dawn of August,
My love, my life, long before your day first

I still remember your first tooth sprout,
From you gums like a snout.

I'd grab a toy on which your eyes lay,
And blissfully enjoy the tricks you used to play.

I lifted your steps and saw you grow,
To a tall, big boy above my brow.

I never realised that time would flee,
And never see you often giggle with glee

I blessed you to the field, without a tear in my eye,
But, all with saddest sigh.

Brave as ever you honoured your Mother,
While letting urself bleed without any bother.

My once busy hands, nw lie still,
With no joy nw, in my life to fill

I cn do nothing bt still be proud,
Even when my pride lies under the shroud.

And tell ppl, that was my boy,
Who was once my living life and joy!
