WEATHER
Here are some links that will
provide you weather in some of
the popular Nigerian cities, some
have forecasts, and some have
historical data. These should give
you an idea of what type of
weather to pack for. I will say
this though "CARRY AN UMBRELLA
OR RAINCOAT, especially if you are
traveling in the rainy season".

TRAVEL AGENCIES

The following is a list of travel
agencies that may be able to
assist you with booking flights to
Nigeria (on most of them, enter
your starting point, your
destination, dates, and find out
availability and cost).

Venture Travel Network
Preview Travel: This is a great
site to start with because it is
not affiliated with any one airline,
but instead, searches through
many of them, and also has
information for booking hotels
and cars.
Travel Bargains which has a site
for African destinations
(including Nigeria).
TheTrip.com
TravLang: Information on travel
as well as information on
languages, foreign currencies,
and other stuff.
Travelocity, which also has a
destination guide to Nigeria.
Yahoo! Guide to Airlines
University Travel Services, Inc.:
These are the travel agents that
I use in the Twin Cities.
Airlines of the Web
Sonaco Travel Club
Millenium Travel Services
Africa Travel
Also, some of the information on
thetransportation page may be
useful for the traveler.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Here are some list of links that can
provide you with information on
accommodations in Nigeria,
unless of course, you have
people to stay with (most
Nigerians are pretty hospitable).
This first list contains links to
sites that have accommodation
listings in numerous cities.

International Trade Consultants:

GETTING AROUND

BY ROAD

If you go to Nigeria, and don't
already have a way to get
around locally, the next easiest
way to get around would
probably be to hire a taxi driver.
Another option is to get a driver
once you get there, these are
sometimes available at the
hotels. Also, Nigerian Galleria has
a section oncar hire rates but
at this time (7/31/98) they are
only from the Lagos Airport.
Other airports may or may not
have similar services.
Also, sometimes you can get
tours by roads that will allow you
to see the country, and where
the driver will explain some of
the places he is driving through.
These are available by luxury
buses, mini-buses, touring saloon
cars, and vary in price and
quality.
If you plan on renting a car, I
have not found many resources
online. I did find a link at
FinDat.com that may soon have
some. Of course, once you are
there, you can try thelocal
travel agencies listed on this
page, and they may or may not
be able to help (let me know if
you find out).
Also, you could try taking public
transportation, but in most
cities, that can be a real ordeal.

BY RAIL

There are also country tours
available by rail, and it is
relatively inexpensive, and is a
convenient way to travel long
distances. The rail system is
constantly being improved. Once
in Nigeria, you can get more
information about schedules and
fares.
