The carnal mind: Why get rid of it?

Rafael Sanchez-Galan

The carnal mind: Why get rid of it?

Romans 6:22-23

I. Introduction

Many believe that we are approaching the last minute because:

1. The moral of mankind has reached its lowest point. It also manifests itself in medicine. For example, ten years ago, scientists made the question: ~ If no one could help people suffering from diseases in the brain, like Parkinson's or Alzheimer's, with implants of brain cells from aborted fetuses (ie: Child killed in the womb of the mother)? In Europe using this method since 1982. Globally, also in Asia, Latin America and the U.S. Since it takes at least eight (8) embryos for implantation, then the abortion is necessary to be able to use them. If in contrast it is said that in no way promotes abortion, but that is only used what exists, then one can deduce from this that abortion has become, apparently, socially ethical and natural.

2. Other headlines tell us that: The rich west spends much money on food for dogs and cats, with which one could save most of the children die slowly of starvation in the world. For example, in Africa, Asia and Oceania. . .

3. In these times there is a spirit of rebellion in the world: That's why we, the believers, we have a battle to fight, which is not against flesh and blood. Your conflict with people, provided they originate because they're walking with God, do not have their cause in these people who commit injustice to you. The cause is the terrible spirit of rebellion against God and His Anointed, who is behind these people. That's why the apostle Paul says explicitly: "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against authorities, against the rulers of this darkness, against spirits of evil in the heavenly places" (Ef.6: 12).

And the areas in which always tries to penetrate this spirit are:

3.1. In villages

The Lord prophesied: "For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom ..." (Matthew 24:7). This will last until the coming of the great rebel, who domará all peoples. In the world there is growing unease. The many strikes and demonstrations revolutionary general strikes, assassinations of leaders of state, and so on. These are the terrible consequences of the spirit of rebellion, which rebelled against everything.

3.2. In the family

The spirit of rebelliousness also penetrates into the family, and children will rebel against their parents. The apostle Paul prophesied it clearly: "You should also know this: that in the past few days will be difficult times. Because men will be lovers of themselves and money. Will boast, arrogant, blasphemous, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked "(2 Ti. 3:1-2).

Wonder: That of "being disobedient to parents" ~ we have not been done something very natural in families?

3.3. Another manifestation of the spirit of rebellion, is the lack of willingness to serve.

How big example is our Lord Jesus in His willingness to serve; get to the point of being willing to shed His own life! He, the Lord himself, expresses it with the following words: "By the same token, the Son of man came not to be served but to serve and to give his life in ransom for many" (Matt. 20:28). Many are gifts to serve, but they are not on duty. We need to let us confront the nature of the Lord Jesus. Paul says in Philippians 2:5: "Hague in you this way of thinking that was also in Christ Jesus." In this verse followed the seven steps of the humiliation of the Lord Jesus. " . . exist in the form of God, he would not be considered equal to God horn something to cling to what, but emptied himself:

becoming form of a servant

becoming similar to men

and being in condition of man

he humbled himself

and became obedient unto death, death on the cross!

(Fil. 2:6-8). The thinking of Jesus was an absolute provision of service until the surrender of His own life, and this because of us!

4. "Deception of pride in their hearts." Nothing so blind our eyes inside to the Lord Jesus Christ, as pride. The apostle Paul expresses it well in Philippians 3:18: "For many walk around, who you talked many times, and now I say crying, who are enemies of the cross of Christ." This is the internal rebellion against Lord. If you do not look and pray, we'll be gripped by this spirit of rebellion, which is a precursor to the antichrist. Therefore, let us illuminate the light of the Word of God, that in our hearts is not any rebellion.

There is a conclusion to what is being perceived in all this is that, throughout the course of events we have mentioned, is directed towards the manifestation of the antichrist, the great rebel. Its origin is Satan, whose heart was given birth to the spirit of rebelliousness and pride.

But this power is also misleading to catch us, that's why on this night they invite us to totally on the side of Jesus! The Amado, the whole desirable, he goes around His love for us through His Word: "How much more blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from the dead works to serve the living God! "(Heb. 9:14). Therefore, together "Let us with a sincere heart in full certainty of faith, purified the hearts of bad conscience, and the bodies washed with pure water" (Heb. 10:22).

Let's see what he says, Romans 8:1, 3-4, 5-8

v.1. "So (now) since. There is no condemnation for those who are united with Christ Jesus "(Version DHH) Despite our best efforts to stop being sinners (trying to comply with the precepts of God), even if we were worthy of condemnation. However, being in Christ Jesus, we have been exempted from such condemnation. vv. 3, 4. "For God has done what the law of Moses could not be done because it was not able to do so because of the sinful nature of man: God sent His own Son in a condition similar to that of sinful man and a sacrifice for sin, in this way to condemn the sin in human nature itself. She did it for us to fulfill what the law orders, because we do not live according to the sinful nature of man, but according to the Spirit. "(Version DHH)

The goal is always to God's will be done on Earth. We can not comply with the law, but the requirement of justice of God to His holy will is fulfilled in us, when we walk through the flesh, but by the Spirit. The walk by the Spirit is the fulfillment of the law and compliance with the holy Will of God. For example, we read in Philippians 3:20-21: "But our citizenship (Luther translated:" we walk ") is in heaven, where we also hope the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, which transformed the body of our humiliation , To be similar to the body of his glory, the power couple with whom you can also restrain himself all things. "

These words express the holy will of God for believers born into this world: by the Spirit, his ride must be in heaven. It does not mean that I floated in the air, no, but I live in this world as a demonic, I have to stay in Christ, who is on the right hand of the Majesty of God in heaven. "Walking by the Spirit" means nothing other than: Christ in me and I in Christ. In 1 Peter 1:14-15 and 17, the apostle highlights another aspect of this walk, saying: "Do not be conformed to the wishes that previously had to be in your ignorance, but one that you eat is holy flame, you too thirsty Saints across your way of life ... And if you call upon by the Father who without respect of persons judged on the work of each, was driving in fear all the time of your pilgrimage. "That means to us: what is being unleashed on earth and be saints! Then he goes on to say: "Beloved, I beg to as pilgrims and foreigners, you abstengáis of carnal desires that battle against the soul, keeping your good way to live among the Gentiles, so that in everything that you like murmuran of wrongdoers, praise God on the day of visitation, when considering your good deeds "(1 Pet. 2:11-12). This good way to live is to walk by the Spirit, is the fulfillment of the holy will of God. God himself gave us everything needed for this walk by the Spirit. 2 Peter 1:3 says, "Like all things pertaining to life and property have been given by his divine power, through knowledge of Him who called us for his glory and excellence." And in Romans 8:32 "He who spares no

II. Living according to the flesh v.5-8

Those who live according to the sinful nature but do not believe in what you want this kind; But those who live under the Spirit want to think about what the Spirit. The mentality of sinful man is death, while the mentality subjected to the Spirit is life and peace.; Sinful mentality is the enemy of God is not subject to the law of God, nor can it do so. Those who surrender to the sinful nature can not please God. (Versión.Int.) Anyone who lives in the minds live more interested in their desires. The only law that recognizes is that of their own desires. They are more interested in themselves, their own goals no matter what he wants to achieve, live to be served, to fill their needs.

III. Living in the Spirit

To the question, How can we get rid of the carnal mind? We respond "Walking by the Spirit." What does "Walking by the Spirit?

1. It means walking by the Spirit of Jesus Christ Paul urged the Galatians: "Walk in the Spirit, and not satisfagáis the desires of the flesh" (Ga. 5:16). If we follow the Lord Jesus, we learn that for us, this begins to walk inside, in the Spirit. Of our Lord we read in Matthew 3:16-17: "And Jesus, after he was baptized, rose water later; And behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming upon him . And there was a voice from heaven, saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. "The Holy Spirit came upon Jesus, and El walked by the Spirit If, for the Spirit of His Father. As soon as we, as believers, we are baptized into His death - as well as this letter: "I do not know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus, we have been baptized in his death?" (Ro. 6:3) - The Holy Spirit is so wonderful space in us. Our baptism in His death, after the fact, is the first step on the walk by the Spirit, and this continued after step by step, without interruption, as well as what we hear in the next verse: "Because we are buried with him to death by baptism, so that as Christ was resurrected from the dead by the glory of ...
