<+>Our hope in Christ <+>''

Our hope in Christ

Romans 8:35-39

INTRODUCTION

As we all know, as of September 11, the world is alarmed and concerned at the situation as a result of the terrorist attacks in the United States. Nobody can forget the horrific scenes of planes crashing into buildings that day were the highest in the world. Personally I was able to be there in 1989.

Today, considering the attacks being made, we think of a possible war of unimaginable dimensions is perhaps the worst war the world has ever seen. Just consider this fact makes us fear intrudes. Today everyone is looking for some kind of hope, wherever, but allowing it to lie down to sleep. And as a minister of the Lord is my responsibility to give a response to God's people. How could strengthen their hope in this morning? I could do about the policy, saying that console live in strong and democratic countries and that governments will agree to resolve the conflict. Could do by talking of military power and comfort, saying that the United States military is second to none and can stop any destructive force that could do it in front in talking financial terms, and comfort by saying that the stock markets around the world are strong and continuing growth and strengthening all investments.

Could do the talking geography and console saying that we live far from the Middle East, away from the financial objectives, political and military might choose to do so the enemy could be talking psychologically and send it to a course on "self-help and self-care after a disaster "to raise their self confidence, you will see more competition and avoid lamenting the painful past could do or talk about the prophecies of the book of Revelation and comfort by telling you not be present on Earth when it is released the final hit against our country The answers to these six options are very easy for me: NO! I will not try to strengthen their hope in these six ways that the reason is very simple: none of them is true:

No political system is invincible

No army can protect us from every military force that is destructive

No economy is safe and could lose all their investments

Or Middle East or the Far East, and no Western country is safe from the next terrorist act, which can be larger and more deadly.

No psychological effort that intends to do to avoid feeling pain guide to health, but are the inevitable.

Finally, any possibility that prophetic promises escape from suffering under the providence of God in the final times worked for the believers in the building of the WTC that Tuesday, and it does not succeed with you. So I will not wrong in my calling as a minister of the gospel to strengthen their hope in these ways.

Instead, I want to strengthen their hopes to secure you feel more vulnerable as it might be today, in light of the terrorist attacks of September 11 last. There are two reasons for this: One, we are more vulnerable than we think to be. The next stage of terrorism may not be a counter similar to the strategy of the week before last. Rather, it could be an act of chemical or biological warfare in which the fatal fire gases (such as Anthrax or smallpox) or poisoning of a city water or food infected with diseases that could become epidemics , just to mention three very realistic possibility. This is no mean six thousand, but hundreds of thousands of people dead. Maybe millions. So we are more vulnerable than we think to be.

The second reason is that the types of suffering that the Bible presents God's people are more extensive that what happened in New York or is happening in Afghanistan. Perhaps this kind of calamity to help us read the Scriptures in what they actually are saying and make us feel less secure with material things to be safe in Jesus Christ our Savior and King. For example, 1 Peter 4:12-19 says: Beloved, do not test-fire sorprendáis that has overwhelmed you, as though some strange thing will happen, but 13 Rejoice ye in that it involved the suffering of Christ, so that the revelation of his glory with great joy gocéis you. 14 If you are vituperados by the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the glorious Spirit of God rests upon you. Certainly, part of them, he is blasphemed, but you is glorified. 15 Thus, none of you suffer as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or interfere with others, 16 but if anyone suffers as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but glorify God for that. 17 It is time for the trial begins by the house of God, and if we start first, what is the purpose of those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 Y: If the right is saved with difficulty, where you see the wicked and the sinner? 19 So those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to the faithful Creator, and do good

So the way I want to strengthen their hope this morning is to increase their sense of security here on earth, or deviated from the biblical truth that God's judgments have just fallen on to purify and to condemn the unjust or mislead the people by telling them that God will not see any trouble. I want to highlight this terrible reality that we are powerless and vulnerable to give real hope and sound that is based on the Word of God. It is not based on feelings of hope innocent ideas of stability of a terrestrial or exhaust purifiers trials or convictions from God. So, what is this hope is based and where? Our hope is that nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus, neither suffering nor death. And the two reasons for this hope is Christ's death and the sovereignty of God. Our King and Savior, Jesus Christ died and rose for our sins, made a curse for us to bear our condemnation, removing our guilt and to secure our eternal joy in the presence of the God who meets us in everything. The sovereignty of God over all people and events ensures that what Christ purchased for us through His blood will inevitably become our heritage. Well, let's get to our text to observe the teachings of God's word.

I. SIGN OUR HOPE IS THAT ANYTHING YOU CAN SEPARATE THE LOVE OF CHRIST.

What is our hope for the best and worst moments? Our hope is that nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ, even the death or suffering. Our hope is not an easy life, safe and comfortable here on earth. Our hope is that the love of God will give us a joy in the glory of God fills everything and will continue after death and increased for all eternity. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? ¿Tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written: FOR WE ARE DEAD CAUSE OF IT ALL THE TIME, WE ARE COUNTED AS SHEEP FOR POULTRY. 37 Before, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For which I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, we may separated from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Our strong hope is tonight and the only lasting hope - is that if one trusts in Christ as Savior as their supreme king, then be protected by the love of God so that no terrorist, no torture, no devil, no disaster, no man, no bug, no government can destroy. This is the hope of this text. That is the hope of the Christian life. Hope is not a political or military or psychological, or geographical, let alone escape. It is a hope bought with blood, produced by the Holy Spirit, focusing on God, who destroys the fear that overcomes death and exalting Christ.

II. THE FUNDAMENTALS OF OUR HOPE

A. The first foundation of our hope is Christ's death for us. The first answer is the death of Christ in our place. Watch vr. The 32 who did not spare his own Son but handed him over for us all, how could I not with him also give us all things? The basis of our hope that God gives us free and that is all we need to be fully satisfied in forever is that he did not spare His own Son, but gave it to us all. He gave it to them. Gave it for us. God did. And he did for us. And vr. 32 says that death is the foundation of our hope that will give us everything we need to be fully satisfied in him forever. And I say this: it will give us everything we need to satisfy us forever in the love of God, because what becomes clear in vr. 35 is that the sovereignty of God does not guarantee that escape from suffering. Does not guarantee that we will never in a hijacked plane or a twin-towers or never drink poisoned water or never breathe a deadly gas. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? ¿Tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? These words cover practically all possible types of disaster. The anguish and tribulation are general words to describe the dangers of all kinds. Christians are vulnerable to them. If your hope is that they will escape from them, their hope is unfounded. And I do not want to give you a hope unfounded tonight but I hope to give you a solid foundation. Christian hope is not that escape from these things, but none of them can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus.

B. The second foundation of our hope is the sovereignty of God over us. We saw first that Christ paid with his life in order to ensure forever. And the second reason that nothing can separate us from the love of God is that He is sovereign. The sovereignty of God in all events is a guarantee that what Christ purchased for us with his blood will inevitably become our heritage. Where do you see these things in the text? Consider vr. 36: As it is written: Because of you we are killed all the time, we are counted as sheep for slaughter. Now, that's a quote from Psalm 44:22. Paul mentions it for the same reason that I am preaching today. The learned of it. The apostle wants to make clear, biblical authority, that the Christian hope is to escape the massacre. Christian hope is not that we are never in a hijacked plane or a bus or never be out of a building collapse by the bomb blast that has within it. It is not that God ceases to be sovereign over all persons and events is not that God governs all things for their own purposes. Why do I say this? Because when you go back to Psalm 44, what we read is that God is not impotent stopped watching his sheep go straight to the slaughterhouse, but it is handing us this suffering. Vrs 10-13: You have made us retreat before the enemy, and we plunder for themselves we abhor. Us like sheep to the slaughter, and we have scattered among the nations. You sold your people for nothing, does not require any price. We put to shame by our neighbors, for derision and mockery of those around us. So when Paul says in vr. 36 "because you are taken ...
