Uranus

Uranus lies at an average distance of 2870 million km from the Sun.
Uranus was discovered in 1781 by William Herschel. He also discovered the moons, Titania and Oberon in 1787. A further four moons were discovered by him. Three of which have now proven to have been non-existant.
Uranus rotates at an inclination of 98 degrees, which means that it orbits the Sun on its side. Its south pole is pointed towards Earth.
A Uranian year is 30,685 Earth days. A day on Uranus is 17 hours, 12 minutes long.
14 Earth's could fit inside of Uranus.
Its diameter is 51,118km across the equator.
Uranus is almost twice the distance from the Sun as Saturn is.
Uranus is a pale blue colour because of all the methanes in its atmosphere which filters out red light.
Uranus has rings of ice and small rock particles, which are so faint they look as black as charoal.
Uranus has around 15 moons orbitting the planet. Ten of which were discovered by the Voyager 2 probe in 1986.
The moons of Uranus are named after characters from the writings of William Shakespeare and Alexander Pope.
Two new moons have been discovered around Uranus, the tiny moons have been named "Mab" and "Cupid". They were first spotted in 2003 by the Hubble Space Telescope. Mab is estimated to be 24km in diameter and Cupid 18km.
Which brings their number up to 29.
The remainder consist of:

Miranda may have been shattered and reformed as many as five times in its history.Whereupon it reassembles itself again from the remains.
Uranus' two innermost moons, Cordelia and Ophelia, are shepherd moons.

Other small inner moons are Bianca, Cressida, Desdemona, Juliet, Portia, Rosalind, Belinda and Puck.Scientists know very little about these moons.

Beyond the orbit of Miranda lie Ariel, Umbriel, Titania and Oberon.
Titania is Uranus' biggest satellite.Titania and Ariel are very similar in appearance. They both have a mixture of craters and valleys.
Umbriel and Oberon are both more cratered than sister satellites Ariel and Titania.
Other moons are Caliban, Sycorax, Setebos, Stephano and Prospero.
