THE spear OF Longinus

ONE OF THE SACRED OBJECTS OF CHRISTIANS most coveted ALONG THE STORY HAS BEEN THE LAUNCH OF Longines, THE WEAPON OF THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO THE CENTURION ROMAN CAYO CASIO PERFOR THE COST OF JESUS IN Golgotha.

History
YOUR STORY IS TIED TO THE POWERS OF ASSUMPTIONS THAT GIVES TO WHOM YOU HAVE THE POWER TO YOU, AND THAT APPEARS TO HAVE We wish to FATE IN THE HANDS OF CHARACTERS AS Constantine the Great, Charlemagne OR HITLER.
I really item of the relics is a particularly bloody chapter in the history of Christianity, against which the best stance is no doubt the skeptical. Although at first the early Christians did not provide the worship of relics, with the fourth century was won some taboos and everything was on the rise, up to the great heyday of the Crusades or the cap could mean that cases like that of Frederick the Wise, who donated to the church of Witemberg no less than five thousand relics that had at the beginning of the sixteenth century.
In the Middle Ages there were workshops in various parts of the Christian world, especially Italy, dedicated to the creation of relics, which were subsequently sold as genuine and would stop at monasteries, churches, palaces ... and also to the homes of thousands of believers who paid by them astronomical amounts in many cases.
And it was not for less, as the relic was imbued with holiness and thus force. Were considered authentic protective talismans, as well as having a healing effect on many diseases, not to mention the magnetism and power that could give some of them to their owners. Of course there is another powerful reason for the relics market had for any community that possesses abundant and "important" relics maintenance was secured thanks to the charity of the faithful and the gifts of the most affluent.
And there was the need of all types and for all tastes. Since the bones of the martyrs or parts of the mummified bodies of many saints, including its wheels, going through several head of San Juan Bautista, land of the Garden of Eden or Golgotha, the Virgin of hair, drops of her milk, feathers and eggs of the holy spirit, leading to all sorts of objects connected with the figure of Jesus.

Certainly there is much that can be said of them, each with a story or legend associated, aligned with supernatural elements that realize the power they are attached. It should therefore be taken with utmost caution the hypothetical authenticity of any sacred object or relic. However, it should get involved in fatigues and discuss in some detail one of them, whose presence along the time seems to have been decisive in specific eras of history. Or at least that is what we are considering the Spear of Longinus, or the Holy Spear.

In the Evangelical San Juan witnessed the episode in which a Roman centurion with his spear going through the side of Jesus, finiquitando passion and enabling the prophecy that alluded to none of its bones would be broken was fulfilled. The presence of both the Roman warrior in Golgotha, as an instrument of God himself that everything predicted to be met, it is crucial to all appearances, so the church as holy as San Longines. But we will see each other as we look towards the history and symbolism of another sacred object, as is the Grail, the history of Cayo Casio can not be told so simple, given its important symbolic backdrop in which it is complementary fálica of uterine vessel griálico . Like the Holy Grail of carved emerald drop in front of Lucifer, the Holy Spear has an associated history after Jesus already made it special, to have been Fileas forged by the prophet and go through the hands of some ancient patriarchs Christians before finishing in the Gospels. In any case the "official" version tells us as blood and water that manaron the side of Jesus healed the blind who suffered almost Longines, while the Holy Lance was picked up and made safe by Joseph of Arimathea along with other personal belongings of Jesus, coming at the hands of St Maurice, commander of the Thebes Legion of martyred along with his six thousand men for Maximilian. From here go to Constantine, allegedly giving him the victory at the Battle of Ponte Milvio against Magencio, on the outskirts of Rome. As Jesus said Callejo, there are currently four spears holy census, the most famous of which is preserved in the Vatican. "The second was launched in Paris, where he was taken by St. Louis in the thirteenth century, when he returned from the last crusade of Palestine. The third is that custody in the museum's Hofburg Palace in Vienna (Austria), also called Casa del Tesoro, and is the one with a pedigree more fascinating because it was the one that envelopes you to Constantine the Great, Charlemagne to a Federico Barbarossa and Hitler. The fourth launches in dispute is kept in Krakow (Poland), but it is only a copy of the Viennese that Otto III gave Boleslav on Bravo, "said Callejo.

The third is clearly the most interesting and probably also the oldest, because as Eslava Galan says this is probably "a dagger prehistoric, from the Iron Age, which reaches 30 cm in length. He is heading into two pieces that are joined by a sleeve of silver. In the thirteenth century was added a nail, allegedly one of those subject to Christ on the cross, in the snippet corresponding to the tip, taking advantage of the central canalillo. The nail is subject to the spear with threads of gold, silver and copper. In the piece of mango there are two tiny gold crosses. The relic of the old guard in a leather case lined in red velvet interior. "
Apparently this spear that had been in the hands of Constantine resurfaced several centuries later, in the hands of people like Alaric the Brave (410 AD), the Visigoth Theodoric (452 AD) or Justinian, who used it in very different ways, to go to up in the hands of Charles Martel at the Battle of Poitiers in the eighth century, which defeated the Arabs (732 AD). Spend less than a century after that of Charlemagne, making this nearly half a hundred victories. Of theirs went as a talisman to those of the Birding Henry I, founder of the House of Saxony "and winner of the Poles. Of Saxony would be transmitted to Hohenstauffen of Swabia, one of whose members, Frederick Barbarossa, Italy won, "says Eslava.

Finally the story of the Heilige haul becomes even more exciting if it breaks when the twentieth century and ends at the hands of an esoteric Adolf Hitler. The story is the need to journalist and former military Trevor Ravenscroft, and that the occult and mathematician Johannes Walter Stein, who is interested in the study of the Grail and the Spear said to have known about Hitler before the First World War. "And as a direct result of these investigations came to know Hitler, who in those days was nothing more than a nobody who lived in a tiny pension category in Vienna. Because during the four years preceding the outbreak of the First World War, he had discovered the legend of the historical destiny of the world associated with the Spear that was in the House of Habsburg Treasury, and in those days he was about twenty years and dreamed of the day the claim as a talisman of the conquest of the world, "wrote Ravenscroft. The young Hitler was soaked in the entire history of the spear passing long hours in front of it, at the museum in Vienna. After his first encounter with her knew "immediately that this was an important moment of my life. And yet he could not guess why I am a Christian symbol caused similar impression. I stayed very still for a few minutes contemplating Lanza and I forgot the place where I was. He seemed to possess some hidden meaning that is beyond me, a meaning that somehow already knew, but could not recognize consciously ... "
He discovered that his possession was associated with a power that seemed from the same sky, so when Austria was incorporated into the Third Reich, Hitler ordered to move from Vienna to Nuremberg the treasure of the Habsburgs. It happened in March 1938, it being exposed in the crypt of Santa Catalina, the scene of the activities of the Masters Singers of the Middle Ages, and Hitler knew that by disclosing that it should host the object, finally in the custody of officers of the SS and a very restricted access. As Ravenscroft explains, "The most important that the young Hitler was while studying the history of the Spear of Destiny was unrelated to either the emperors or their dynasties of power. Lanza found that he had been the inspiration for the founding of the Knights Teutons, whose shares Chivalrous and bold and whose votes irreversible and ascetic discipline had formed the very essence of their childhood dreams. " And there he remained for several years "encouraging" to the president in his National Socialist Dantesque military career until the end of the war and after a failed attempt to transfer, the spear is recovered by the Allies. Finally these, despite the fascination that apparently felt by Gen. Patton, the returned to their rightful owners returning with the rest of the treasure to the museum showcases the Viennese Hofbrug.

LA LANZA DE LONGINOS

UNO DE LOS OBJETOS SAGRADOS DEL CRISTIANISMO MÁS CODICIADOS A LO LARGO DE LA HISTORIA HA SIDO LA LANZA DE LONGINOS, EL ARMA CON LA QUE SEGÚN LOS EVANGELIOS EL CENTURIÓN ROMANO CAYO CASIO PERFORÓ EL COSTADO DE JESÚS EN EL GÓLGOTA.

Historia
